The Texas Latino GOP PAC will be releasing a much anticipated outdoor campaign in the Houston market beginning this Fall. We received a great response from our current members who graciously participated in a photoshoot with local photographer Juan Maldonado this summer. The outdoor campaign, called 'Somos Republicanos' - 'We are Republicans,' was created to personify the Texas Latino GOP PAC and will prominently feature members and some of November's Republican candidates - Ruben Villarreal, Michelle Fraga, Natalie Fleming, Xavier Alfaro, Vanessa Velasquez, Debra Ibarra Mayfield, Linda Garcia and Orlando Sanchez.Read more
Having been born in Venezuela, my upbringing was rooted in the conservative ideals of faith and family. I have since seen how leftist ideas can destroy a country by undermining our values and our freedom. As a first generation Texan and American, I have experienced first-hand what can be achieved through the blessings of liberty and have worked to pass on these values to my children. I have spent most of my life in the public eye, early on as Miss Venezuela and Miss South America, and later as a broadcast journalist and Spanish language television anchorwoman. I have been blessed with the opportunity to listen to the people in our community and to give them a voice. In doing so, I have discovered the Hispanic voice, for far too long, has been misrepresented. Conservatives at heart, Hispanics have been "duped" into believing they are Democrats, and as a result, our values and interests have not been represented by many of our leaders. That is why I chose to get involved politically and why I am a Republican.

"My Hispanic roots are strong and run deep. The Republican party and I share the core values that define us as much as our DNA.
Like many, I grew up in a home that was short on money but long on core values, like hard work, self-reliance, service to others, love of God and family, and devotion to our state and country.
But they taught us the power of perseverance. I learned firsthand that opportunities await those who adhere to those Core Values and pursue the American Dream
Support on the campaign trail comes from the most unlikely places. I have found over and over again that backgrounds and life experiences may differ widely but core values transcend those things and people together in unexpected ways." Michelle Fraga
We had a phenomenal event in the Tough Tejano Award Gala. Meeting the family of Rudy Vara was an emotional and and amazing experience. It was a true honor to meet the family as we celebrated his legacy. It is difficult not to get wrapped up in the pride and joy felt by the family as their loved one was recognized as a pioneer in front of his peers, and fellow conservatives.
I've had plenty of time to reflect since that wonderful event, and I can't help but feel filled with pride at the leadership that was represented in the room that night, the quality of candidates vying for public office, and the acknowledgement for the important work that we are doing.
It has been just a little over a year ago that I was honored with being invited to lead the Texas Latino GOP PAC, and I feel that we have made great strides, however, we have a long way to go. I have been pleasantly surprised at the support I have received from fellow conservative Houstonian's from within and outside of the Latino community in our mission of increasing Latino representation in the party, providing like minded conservative Latino's a place to exchange ideas, concerns, and to meet our elected officials. We have received equal support from many of our elected officials from the party, and makes me very proud to be a Houstonian, and a conservative Tejana.
We are also deeply grateful for the incredible support that we have received from Robert and Janice McNair and the McNair Group which makes much of what we do possible.
Among our many accomplishments, we also thankful for our relationship with the very first Latino radio station KYST 920 AM, established in Houston in 1983. The radio station is a family owned business now led by Matthew Velasquez, and boast community focused programming such as "Sentido Comun," a conservative talk show with show host Carlos Serna on the air Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. 920 AM is collaborating with the Texas Latino GOP PAC by inviting us to join the show every other Monday, and bring guests such as local candidates, elected officials, and the PAC Leadership to join in the conversation to a Spanish Language audience.
In the year ahead, we are planning a community BBQ in Pasadena, as well as our regularly scheduled monthly networking events designed to bring together voters, candidates, and elected officials to engage in open dialog about our communities. We intend to continue working with the Texas GOP's Latino Outreach team, working with our local Evangelical groups to spread our conservative message across the Latino Communities, engaging in town hall meetings, and meeting with our local elected officials to continue raising awareness of the need to engage the Latino voice, and encourage continued outreach in communities not historically involved in the party.
Membership is the cornerstone of our organization, I encourage you to please join if you are not already a member, and I look forward to seeing you all at one of our events! Together we can be the change we want to see in our communities.

As Latinos become the new and growing face of the GOP, and just in time for the primaries, join us in honoring an individual who has blazed the trail for the conservative Latino voice in the Houston/Harris County area, and celebrate his/her legacy.

Dear Texas Latino GOP PAC Supporters
We are planning a great community event “Tejanos, Texas & Tamales” to bring together our elected officials with their constituents on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 from 6-8 PM at La Mansion located at 809 Berry Rd. Houston, TX 77022 . The event will feature live music and cash bar.
Tamales are a holiday tradition in Mexican culture synonymous with family, community, and unity. Families come together to hold “Tamaladas,” while tamales are not difficult to make, they are labor intensive and can be time consuming, tamaladas are an opportunity for families and friends to gather, share stories, laughter and forge lasting relationships.
The Texas Latino GOP PAC invites you, and our elected officials to join us for this festive event.
Sponsorship opportunities are available. You will be listed as a supporter and event sponsor on all print and electronic media. Your sponsorship's may be made online (DONATE) or by mailing a check to the Texas Latino GOP PAC, PO Box 130853, Houston TX 77219.
